Rather than exploiting the environment shouldn’t we be in a partnership? If we continue to waste the earth’s resources as if there were no tomorrow, there could well be no tomorrow. By the year 2010, one-third of the world’s cropland will have turned to dust, of people, will face starvation. All this is happening since our civilization has kept on expanding, on the assumption that the world’s resources are limitless. But merely stopping growth is not the answer. What we need is development that works in partnership with the environment that uses the earth’s resources more productively and after all is suitable at the same time.
